The event for solarcars will be run under the established regulations of the International Solarcar Federation.
The classic solarcars are the ultimate test of energy efficiency. These technologies will be the heart of all electric cars to come, whether that electricity comes from hydrogen fuel cells, plug-in/grid connect, hybrid or even electric commuter cars powered from solar cells on the garage roof – they will all utilise the technology that is being honed to perfection in the Global Green Challenge.
With an allowance of just 6 square metres of solar array, some of the wolrd's brightest young people are helping to develop the world’s most efficient electric car.
