The Confederation of Australian Motorsport, whose program of training and accreditation provides officials skilled in making the competition both fair and enjoyable, will sanction all classes of competition.
Production vehicles with ADR81/01 rating are invited to prove how well they can perform across 3,000km of sealed highway.
The official government figures ADR81/01 are derived from a series of laboratory tests conducted under controlled conditions. 'Real World' figures can be significantly different.
Awards will be made according to the greatest percentage improvement of the official government figures published in the Green Car Guide.
Put simply, the idea is to see how far a car can go on the least amount of energy, with the energy equivalents of various alternative fuels determined according to the figures agreed with the FIA for Alternative Energy Vehicles.
