Who will be there?
From the very beginning, this unique event has attracted worldwide interest.
And once again, the Global Green Challenge will see the involvement of the world's leading technical universities including London's Imperial College, MIT and Michigan, Osaka Sangyo, University of New South Wales as well as many others. Some of the brightest young minds on the planet will gather for this event.
Furthermore, the world’s leading motor manufacturers are being challenged to demonstrate their own environmental commitments by entering the latest examples of clean and green technology into the Eco Challenge category.
What can I do?
Get involved in the Global Green Challenge by following the event online during the challenge from October 24 to October 31, 2009.
There will daily team updates, news items and stories of this magnificent adventure as teams compete over 3,000 kms across Australia. So get behind your favourite team or country and follow their road to success.
There will be opportunities to see these brilliant machines at the start line in Darwin from October 24, right in the heart of the city, then follow their adventure down the Stuart Highway to Alice Springs, where you can see the cars pass through the town. On the conclusion of the challenge, bring your family to Victoria Square on October 31, 2009 and watch the cars as they glide into Adelaide down King William Street, then mingle with the drivers and teams.
